Barnardo's, the UK's largest Children's Charity, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Residential Support Worker to join our Leicestershire Residential Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the well-being and development of children and young people in our care.

About the Role

As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will be responsible for leading and supporting a team of Residential Support Workers in providing high-quality care and support to our service users. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Building trust and developing nurturing relationships with service users to promote their independence, wellbeing, and strengths.
  • Working in partnership with parents/carers and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our service users.
  • Leading and supporting the Residential Support Workers in their day-to-day duties, including cooking, cleaning, and maintaining a safe environment.
  • Documenting information accurately and ensuring records are kept up to date.
  • Ensuring safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking an experienced and passionate individual who shares our commitment to providing exceptional care and support to children and young people. To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Level 3 qualification relevant to Residential Childcare or a willingness to complete this in the required timeframe.
  • Relevant experience working with children and young people, including supervisory and shift leader experience in a residential care setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with service users, parents/carers, and other professionals.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures, with the ability to ensure these are adhered to at all times.
