About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to lead and manage the implementation and delivery of the Council's transformation activities, and other corporate priority and major projects. This role will lead and manage some of the Council's most complex transformational and innovative change projects and programmes of work, from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage projects and programmes from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery, within budget, and to the highest standards.
  • Develop and implement project management plans, including project scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify project requirements, develop project plans, and ensure project deliverables meet stakeholder expectations.
  • Manage project risks, issues, and changes, ensuring they are properly documented and mitigated.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans, ensuring they are up-to-date and accurate.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet the Council's quality standards, and that project outcomes are measured and reported.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including project sponsors, team members, and external partners.
  • Provide project management guidance and support to project team members, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver project outcomes.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in project management, with a strong track record of delivering complex projects and programmes.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate project risks and issues.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire project team members.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders, including project sponsors, team members, and external partners.
