Job Overview:
The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Head of School for General Practice. This position will primarily focus on improving learner supervision, support, assessment, and experience within the East Midlands region.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic oversight, leadership, innovation, and improvement of all activities related to education and training of the Primary Care workforce.
- Ensure effective educational outcomes and engagement of faculty in the delivery of high-quality services.
- Line manage and support Associate Postgraduate Deans within the East Midlands.
- Contribute to the vision of the local NHS and enhance patient care by providing leadership and direction with respect to quality of education and training.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Considerable experience of working with learners or doctors in training in an educational context.
- Experience of clinical and educational leadership, innovation, including managing a multi-professional team.
- Demonstrable track record of delivery in service and education.
- Understanding of developments involving relevant Colleges/Faculties, professional bodies, related NHS organisations, and regulatory bodies.
- Trained and experienced in recruitment, selection, and Equality and Diversity in the last 3 years.
- Previous or current appointment as a leader in healthcare education.
Salary and Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary of £134,639 per annum pro rata, reflecting the skills and expertise required for this role. Additionally, we provide a range of benefits that cater to the diverse needs of our employees.
