About the Role

Bright Horizons UK is seeking a qualified and experienced Deputy Manager to join our team at our Cambridge nursery. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for leading, mentoring, and inspiring a team to deliver exceptional care and education to children in our care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring the day-to-day running of the nursery and management of safeguarding and child protection policies.
  • Contribute to succession planning, identification, and delivery of relevant training, and supporting professional development plans for colleagues.
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with colleagues, parents, and other professionals to meet the needs of each child.
  • Promote the nursery to current and potential customers to support retention and occupancy growth.
  • Ensure commercial success by maintaining expenditure inline with FTEs and budget KPIs.

Requirements

  • Full and relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification.
  • Experience within an Early Years leadership role, ideally as a Deputy Manager, Assistant Manager, or similar.
  • Experience of participating in regulatory inspections, leading to a "Good" or "Outstanding" outcome.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding, Child Protection, and legislative requirements for working with children.
  • Ability to build trust and strong working relationships with colleagues and parents.
