Medication Safety and Antimicrobial Stewardship Specialist

Medication safety and antimicrobial stewardship are critical components of patient care in the NHS. As a Medication Safety and Antimicrobial Stewardship Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe use of medicines and preventing antimicrobial resistance. Your primary responsibility will be to maintain medicines safety and develop an antimicrobial stewardship strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain medicines safety by identifying and mitigating risks associated with medication use
- Develop and implement an antimicrobial stewardship strategy to optimize antibiotic use and prevent resistance
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to promote best practices in medication use and antimicrobial stewardship
- Provide clinical pharmacy service to allocated wards, including supporting patients with complex medication regimens
Requirements: Registered with GPhC, post-graduate diploma in clinical pharmacy, evidence of recent continuing professional development, and membership of Royal Pharmaceutical Society. Experience in the NHS, working as part of a multidisciplinary team, planning and implementing practice changes, teaching and mentoring, and developing medicines management policies.
Estimated Salary: £65,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
