Agricultural Teaching Assistant Wanted in Exeter

We are seeking an enthusiastic Agricultural Teaching Assistant to support engaging lessons in agricultural studies, environmental science, and sustainability in Exeter.

This role offers a unique chance to work with young learners, including those with special educational needs (SEN), helping them explore and understand the natural world.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students in classroom settings, focusing on topics like sustainable practices, food production, ecology, and environmental science.
  • Assist with a range of practical and theoretical lessons, adapting activities to suit different learning needs, including for students with SEN.
  • Provide individualized support to students, ensuring an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Work alongside teachers and support staff to bring agricultural and environmental education to life.
Requirements:
  • Interest in Agriculture and the Environment: A passion for subjects like ecology, sustainability, and environmental science, and the ability to inspire young learners.
  • Experience with SEN (Desirable): Patience and adaptability to support children with SEN and tailor lessons to meet their needs.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Ability to connect with and motivate students of all abilities.
  • Team Player: Willingness to collaborate with teachers, SEN specialists, and other support staff.

Please note that all applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. The salary includes 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This is a temporary position, with the option to become permanent in the future.
