Consultant in Paediatrics Opportunity

NHS Scotland is committed to promoting equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. Our aim is for our workforce to be truly representative, and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best.

We are inviting applications for the post of Consultant in Paediatrics. The successful candidate will be based in Western Isles Hospital, a modern 97-bed Rural General Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to combine modern and progressive clinical practice with a lifestyle that is difficult to match.

The post offers a unique chance to work in a remote and rural setting, with a strong sense of community and identity. The Western Isles are known for their stunning landscapes, spectacular coastlines, and renowned Hebridean hospitality.

The successful applicant will be required to register with the PVG Scheme. The post is for 10 PAs per week, plus up to a maximum of 2 EPAs per week, and an 8% availability allowance subject to an agreed job plan. The on-call rota is 1:2.

We are willing to consider applications for a Job Share. The successful candidate will be fully supported while working towards inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register. For further information, please contact Dr Frank McAuley, Medical Director.

NHS Terms and Conditions of the New Consultant Grade (Scotland) 2004 apply. The post offers a competitive salary, plus a Distant Island Allowance and relocation expenses.

We are committed to providing a safe and supportive work environment, with a high-quality education system and low levels of crime. The Western Isles offer a unique opportunity to develop your skills and confidence within a supportive team.

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team of Consultants. If you have a passion for remote and rural medicine, and are keen to escape the rat race and embrace a healthier work-life balance, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
