Transport Planner Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join our team at Nationwide Platforms, the UK market leader in powered access. As a Transport Planner, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our business by accurately planning the delivery and collection of our equipment for our depots within the region.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Delivery Planning: Plan the delivery of new hire orders to meet agreed customer delivery times, ensuring that off-hired equipment is collated within the prescribed timescale.
  2. Transport Optimization: Plan deliveries and collections to ensure cost-effective use of the transport fleet.
  3. Fleet Management: Work with the Regional Transport Manager to ensure that the vehicles allocated are maintained and inspected to the schedules set by fleet management.
  4. Compliance: Ensure that drivers comply with all relevant Road Transport legislation, including the correct and timely use of tachographs and internal reporting.
Requirements:
  1. Experience: Previous logistics/transport planning experience within a busy environment.
  2. Knowledge: Good knowledge of systems and transport planning software.
