About the Role:

The Standard Car Pricing Manager will lead a dynamic team in the London office, responsible for planning, completing, and presenting all risk pricing activity relating to the Standard Car products within the Ageas portfolio. These products cover the core of the private car market, with the majority of business traded through aggregators across the Broker and Direct channels.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Team Management: Manage, develop, and coach a team of Lead Pricing Analysts, Senior Pricing Analysts, and Pricing Analysts.
  • Pricing Deployments: Engage with the pricing deployments team to manage model/rate change deployments as required. Communicate change timelines to relevant stakeholder groups.
  • Market Knowledge: Maintain knowledge of the wider external environment and feed developments back into Ageas' pricing strategy.
  • Pricing Performance: Develop a balanced view of current and future pricing performance by combining MI, modeling results, and company targets.
  • Record Maintenance: Maintain records to coordinate pricing decisions and implementation across teams, decision-making bodies, and implementation pathways.

Requirements:

  • Relevant Experience: Relevant experience within insurance pricing.
  • Programming Skills: Highly skilled in the use of programming languages (e.g., SAS) to manipulate data.
  • Predictive Modeling: Experienced in the use of predictive modeling techniques (e.g., Logistic Regression, Log-Gamma GLMs, GBMs, Elastic Net GLMs, GAMs, Decision Trees, Random Forests, Support Vector Machines, and Neural Nets).
  • Emblem and Radar: Experience in using Emblem and Radar.
  • Analytics Skills: Experience in using analytics to solve complex business problems.
  • Coaching and Influencing: Effective coaching of junior staff and development of pricing skills. Experience in dealing with and influencing colleagues at all levels, up to and including senior management and directors.
