Prison Escort Job Description

Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited is seeking a reliable and security-conscious individual to join our team as a Prison Escort. This role is based at HMP Lewes in Sussex, and the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the safety and security of the establishment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Escort visitors, building contractors, and gate duties within the prison and outside areas.
  • Ensure the safety and security of visitors, staff, and prisoners within the prison establishment.
  • Search visitors and contractors for unauthorized items.
  • Operate radios and handle supervision of visitors and contractors on site.
  • Conduct contractor tool checks and patrol the perimeter and grounds.
  • Adhere to health and safety procedures and perform routine administrative tasks.
Requirements:
  • No formal qualifications or previous experience are required for this role.
  • Successful applicants will have a background in customer services or security and will be assessed based on the following competencies: acting with integrity, respecting others, building relationships and team working, communicating effectively, and developing self and others.
  • Full training is provided by the establishment/department, and training time will be paid at the standard hourly rate.
  • Security Clearance is required, and immediate start is possible if already Prison Cleared.
