Job Description: Community Learning Disabilities Therapist

We are recruiting for an experienced Community Learning Disabilities Therapist to join our dynamic team at Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust. As a therapist, you will work closely with children, families, and other healthcare professionals to provide evidence-based occupational therapy interventions.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of child development, neurology, and rehabilitation principles, as well as experience working with children and young people with complex needs. You will be able to demonstrate your ability to assess and treat children using a range of techniques, including goal setting and outcome measurement.

About the Role:

  • Assess and develop individualized treatment plans for children with learning disabilities
  • Deliver occupational therapy interventions to promote independence and participation
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care delivery
  • Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives

Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy
  • Current registration with the Health Professions Council
  • Strong understanding of child development and neurology principles
  • Experience working with children and young people with complex needs

Salary: £37,338 - £44,962 per annum (pro rata)

Contract: Permanent

Working Pattern: Full-time, Part-time, Job share, Flexible working
