Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Warrington Borough Council. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our school sites, including the maintenance of buildings, fixtures, and equipment.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement a preventative maintenance programme to ensure the school and site are maintained to the highest standard.
  2. Supervise and coordinate the work of cleaners and contractors to ensure all duties are fulfilled and that the site is maintained in a safe and clean condition.
  3. Monitor and operate the heating system, and advise management of any faults to ensure the most economical use of fuel and water.
  4. Maintain and monitor Health and Safety standards, keeping all records and paperwork up to date, and report any failures to comply with the school's statutory Health & Safety obligations.
  5. Act as Fire Warden and assist with regular school fire-drills, and recommend improvements to safety where necessary.
  6. Manage and maintain the Legionella Management plan, and act as tap turner.
  7. Update and uphold all H&S policies and procedures to ensure the safety of the children and all visitors to site.
  8. Carry out routine inspections of the buildings, fixtures, fittings, premises, and grounds to assess for minor works or repairs required.
  9. Be proactive in planning repairs and maintenance to ensure the school and site are maintained to the highest standard.
  10. Be aware and comply with all policies and procedures, including H&S, Security, confidentiality, data protection, etc.
  11. Adhere to the school's Safeguarding Policy, which safeguards and promotes the welfare of all children.
