We are looking for an exceptional Energy and Environmental Specialist to join our sustainability team in Bristol. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for progressing our Environmental Sustainability strategy and leading on the development of our Net Zero Plan (NZP).

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading UK law firm that has a rich heritage spanning 160 years. With over 700 lawyers and legal professionals across its offices, the company advises businesses, governments, and individuals on various aspects of law.

Key Responsibilities
  • Environmental and Sustainability Strategy: Progressing Birketts's Environmental Sustainability strategy and leading on the development of our Net Zero Plan (NZP).
  • Data collection: Collaborating with internal stakeholders to obtain relevant carbon usage data and develop NZP proposals targeting scope 1, 2, and 3 reductions.
  • Communications: Promoting environmental sustainability to colleagues across the business through intranet news items and presentations at internal workshops.
  • Environmental and Sustainability Committee: Managing and running the admin support for the internal Environmental and Sustainability Committee.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Experience: In environmental practices, policies, and regulations for reporting compliance.
  • Skills: Good data management and Excel skills, very good written skills, and the ability to produce high-quality first drafts.
  • Credentials: A strong understanding of the SBTi guidance and other environmental regulations, standards, and frameworks.
