West Midlands Metro is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician to join its team in the heart of England.



As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our tramway network by performing electrical and mechanical maintenance and repair work.



Key responsibilities include:




  • Evaluating and addressing electrical and mechanical issues to minimize downtime and ensure safe operation
  • Collaborating with the maintenance team to develop and implement comprehensive maintenance schedules
  • Performing routine inspections and maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failure
  • Assisting with the testing and commissioning of new systems
  • Switching electrical substations and overseeing contractors performing planned works


To succeed in this role, you will need:




  • A strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, including the ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
  • Recognized electrical qualifications at Level 3 or above
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and external partners
  • GCSE Maths, English, and Science at Grade C/4 or above
