About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and flexible individual to join our team as a Border Control Assistant at Edinburgh Airport. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient processing of arriving passengers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist and Guide Passengers: Provide excellent customer service to all arriving passengers, ensuring they are processed through the correct channel depending on their document type or port of entry.
  • Operate and Control Baggage Belts: Safely and efficiently manage the open collector baggage belt, maintaining the security and safety of passengers.
  • Monitor Electronic Passport Gates: Continuously monitor the E Passport gates, ensuring they are not left unattended at any time.
  • Manage Barriers and Queuing Systems: Effectively manage the barriers in the uni-feed, ensuring they are pulled at the appropriate times to maintain the flow of passengers.
  • Support Team Leader: Collaborate with the Team Leader to implement decisions and changes, providing feedback on operational issues and processes to improve performance.
  • Ensure Safety and Security: Follow procedures and ensure the safety and security of passengers, equipment, and the airport environment.
Requirements:
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels.
  • Pleasant and Approachable Nature: A pleasant and approachable demeanor, with a strong focus on customer service.
  • Multitasking and Adaptability: Ability to multitask and remain calm during busy periods, with a flexible approach to shift work.
  • Airport Experience: Previous experience in an airport environment is an advantage, but not essential.
