Job Overview

Cranleigh STEM, Sustainability & SHEQ Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Process Engineer to join its R&D team. As a Process Engineer, you will play a vital role in designing and developing new technology for the manufacturing site, ensuring it meets safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and development of existing and introduction of new technology to the factory, adhering to safety protocols
  • Identification and implementation of process improvements to reduce manufacturing costs and enhance product quality
  • Innovation and technology development, including transfer between sites, to ensure best practices are utilized throughout the organization
  • Delivery of projects within budget, scope, and safety requirements
  • Design, development, and industrialization of new and existing manufacturing technologies from various stages of the TRL scale
  • Identification and implementation of process improvements to reduce manufacturing costs, improve product quality, and safety
  • NPD introduction to the factory and optimization of the process
  • Promotion of a safety-first culture based on human relations and development of individuals through effective coaching

Requirements

  • Degree-level qualification in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field
  • Strong 3-D CAD (SolidWorks) and 2-D (AutoCAD) experience in designing and modifying production equipment/bespoke machinery for manufacture
  • Proven Process Engineering/Manufacturing experience
  • Computer literacy, proficient in statistical software, and Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, or equivalent
  • Strong communication and reporting skills at all organizational levels
  • Experience delivering engineering projects
  • Experience of data-driven/problem-solving
  • Process risk and hazard assessment tools (e.g., PFMEA, FMEA, HAZOP)
  • Understanding of continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Kaizen)
