Job Summary:

South Reading and Shinfield Group Medical Practice is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to improve the quality and safety of care delivered to patients across its practice.

The post holder will contribute to improving prescribing practice and patient care by ensuring regular medication audits are carried out, monitoring key performance indicators, and assisting in the delivery of medicines optimisation and management incentive schemes.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure regular medication audits are carried out and key performance indicators are actively monitored and reviewed.
  • Assist in the delivery of medicines optimisation and management incentive schemes and patient safety audits.
  • Work closely with local pharmacies to improve prescribing safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Manage temporary and permanent prescribing changes at scale.
  • Provide advice to GPs, staff, and patients on prescribing changes to support improvement of prescribing safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
