Why We Need This Role

We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our Intelligent Systems team based in London, who will work closely with global product and engineering teams. This role is at the forefront of driving innovation through cutting-edge data science, machine learning, and generative AI technologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for spearheading a wide range of existing use cases, driving our Code Generation effort, taking ownership of our proprietary knowledge graph, and leveraging advanced data analysis to derive valuable insights and make data-driven decisions.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Utilize generative AI for code generation and automate software assembly.
  2. Harness our proprietary knowledge graph to optimize the customer journey.
  3. Advance internal text-to-image generation capabilities tailored to customer-specific content.
  4. Employ historical data to forecast software project price and timeline.
  5. Optimize developer workforce allocation to align with customer demand and business metrics.
  6. Analyze dependency structures and identify bottlenecks in the software development life cycle.
  7. Automate quality assurance processes and cloud resource allocation in software development.

Requirements

  1. PhD or advanced Masters in Statistics, Computer Science, Machine Learning & AI, Mathematics, or Physics.
  2. Hands-on experience in at least three of the following areas: Generative AI, Supervised and Unsupervised Learning, Deep Learning, Computer Vision, Recommendation Systems, Knowledge Graphs, Probabilistic Inference, Bayesian Statistics, Reinforcement Learning.
  3. Strong industry experience, with a focus on taking concepts and models from conception to production and quantifying business impact.
  4. Proficiency in Python programming.
  5. Expertise in GIT and the data science Python stack.
  6. Experience with real-world data querying, manipulation, and feature engineering.
  7. Familiarity with cloud technologies.
  8. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with given direction.
  9. Efficient time and task management skills.
  10. Entrepreneurial mindset and a can-do attitude.
  11. Passion for software development and engineering.
  12. Ability to collaborate in interdisciplinary teams of product, engineering, business, and technology experts.

Desired Skills

  1. Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
  2. Experience in a consumer-oriented, product-focused, or eCommerce business.
  3. Strong academic research background with a proven track record of accomplishments.
  4. Knowledge of graph databases and proficiency in Cypher query language.
  5. Familiarity with vector databases and expertise in Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG).
  6. Hands-on experience in self-hosting and fine-tuning of open source Generative AI models.
  7. Ability to propose innovative and tailored solutions to non-standard machine learning problems.
  8. Track record of industry recognition which could be in the form of high impact ML/AI conference contributions, contribution to high impact open source projects or performance in open source competitions such as Kaggle
