About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Associate to join our Banking and Leveraged Finance team. This role will focus on corporate lending and leveraged finance work, areas in which we have a well-established and growing profile.

The successful candidate will advise on financings across the capital stack, as well as stressed and special opportunities investments. They will work closely with our private equity team, supporting our financial sponsor clients, and have the opportunity to gain exposure to the banking team's other core offerings.

The team has nurtured relationships with a number of active financial institutions and intermediaries, and advises a number of leading corporates in our markets and chosen sectors. We advise on financial restructurings alongside Osborne Clarke's specialist insolvency team.

Our Team

The UK banking team, located across our London, Bristol, and Thames Valley offices, consists of 9 Partners, 1 Legal Director, 6 Associate Directors, 6 Senior Associates, 9 Associates, 6 Trainee Solicitors, and 4 Paralegals. This role will report to Tom Bussy (Partner).

Requirements

  1. Preferably, the candidate will have done a mix of corporate lending work and leveraged finance work within a stand-alone finance or banking team at a leading national or international firm.
  2. The successful candidate will have excellent transaction and conditions precedent management skills, capable of running or supervising this aspect of the deal, as required.
  3. They will support the development of more junior team members.
  4. The ideal candidate will also have attained a degree of proficiency in drafting and reviewing facility agreements, intercreditor/subordination agreements, security documentation, and legal opinions, as well as bid commitment papers.
