Morgan Ryder is seeking an experienced Technical Manager to lead engineering projects in the defence sector. This role will provide leadership in all aspects of project management, ensuring that engineering projects are delivered on time, on budget and to the high standards that clients expect.

Job Summary:

  • Lead all engineering projects from inception to successful completion
  • Act as Technical Authority ensuring each stage of project receives adequate challenge, review and signature
  • Oversee the day-to-day activities of the engineering team, ensuring efficient resource utilisation and the successful delivery of engineering and project objectives
  • Strategically plan short and long-term workload, balancing priorities to meet operational and project deadlines
  • Coach and mentor the engineering team building a culture of high performance and accountability

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning and Delivery: Develop and implement project plans, ensuring timely completion within budget and scope.
  2. Technical Authority: Provide technical guidance and oversight to ensure projects meet required standards and regulations.
  3. Team Leadership: Lead and motivate the engineering team to achieve project goals and objectives.
  4. Communication: Liaise with stakeholders, including operations, sales, and customers, to ensure effective communication and alignment.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical, Electronics or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience of Project Management or Technical Management in a process-driven, safety-critical environment
  • Strong technical mindset, ideally with knowledge of the Defence/Aerospace industry
  • Results-oriented, capable of planning and delivering projects within set deadlines
  • Proven leadership skills, with a track record of optimising team performance and successfully managing engineering projects

What We Offer:
