Strategic Planning Manager

As a key member of the Eversource team, the Strategic Planning Manager will play a critical role in developing and implementing the Company's strategic objectives for grid modernization. This hybrid role will require the ability to manage initiatives, develop value maps, and perform assessments of the current state of people, process, and technology. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in strategic planning and be able to lead rigorous analysis to understand emerging external trends related to the electric distribution industry.

The Strategic Planning Manager will be responsible for coordinating multi-disciplinary initiatives, overseeing teams of internal and external resources, and ensuring optimal performance. This role will also involve working collaboratively across the organization to gain a thorough knowledge of the Company's strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities. The successful candidate will have excellent written and oral communication skills, including support for executive level reviews and approvals.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and maintaining a value map for electric operations based on an assessment of core competencies and their impact on safety, reliability, resiliency, clean energy policy advancement, and optimization functions.
  • Tying the value map to internal priorities with respect to investments in workforce, technology, efficiency initiatives, and regulatory priorities.
  • Performing assessments of the current state for people, process, and technology and identifying opportunities to increase alignment with longer-term strategic objectives for the Company and the industry.
  • Leading rigorous analysis to understand and communicate emerging external trends related to the electric distribution industry and the deployment of distributed energy resources.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in business or technical related discipline and at least 10 years of successful strategic planning and related experience. Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
