Job Summary

The Centre for Innovation in Sustainable Design and Manufacturing (ISDM) at Imperial College London is seeking a Centre Manager to support the day-to-day activities and liaison with the major industrial partner, Tata Steel Limited. The postholder will work closely with our Industrial Partnerships and Commercialisation Team (IPC) to coordinate and promote the use of our facilities for the advancement of the Centre goals.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to pursue a career in project and/or Academic centre management and will support scientific advancements in improving sustainability in manufacturing processes in industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be the primary contact for the centre's partners and external stakeholders.
  • Support the coordination of the ISDM Centre's activities, ensuring that they meet their deliverables, with the goal of ensuring long-term sustainability of the centre.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key industrial stakeholders, organising events and developing a marketing strategy for the centre to engage and utilize research partners.
  • Ensure that the centre's day-to-day administration runs smoothly and efficiently, working with the Department's Research & Finance team as needed.

Requirements

  • Experience in project management, including influencing the outputs of deliverables.
  • Demonstrable experience of engaging with external stakeholders and suppliers, working effectively with individuals from different backgrounds and levels of seniority.
  • Experience managing budgets and finances on projects.
  • Experience working in a similar role in an Academic environment would be considered an advantage but is not essential.
