The Actuary Group is seeking a talented and ambitious Retirement Actuarial Consultant to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our pensions consulting practice, you will work closely with clients to provide expert advice on defined benefit (DB) pension schemes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategic advice on DB pension schemes, leveraging your expertise to drive business growth and client satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions, ensuring seamless delivery of high-quality advice.
  • Lead on complex projects, managing multiple tasks and prioritizing workload to meet deadlines and exceed client expectations.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, providing informed views on current topics and trends affecting clients, and tailoring advice to reflect their needs.
  • Oversee client projects, ensuring timely delivery of advice and strategy, and maintaining a high level of technical accuracy.
  • Drive key business relationships to identify and develop revenue-generating opportunities with new and existing clients.
  • Mentor junior team members, checking the technical accuracy of their work, delivering training sessions, and delegating tasks as required.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Significant experience working with Trustees and/or Corporates on DB pensions, with a well-rounded knowledge of the broader UK pensions landscape.
  • Strong technical actuarial fundamentals, coupled with demonstrable business acumen.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think laterally and troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Strong client focus, with the ability to assimilate and consultatively communicate key concepts and advice to clients.
  • Strong leadership qualities, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload.
  • Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, with experience with other actuarial/modelling tools desirable.
  • Nearly/newly qualified actuary or fully qualified actuary with post-qualification experience.
