At Hoare Lea, we're looking for a talented Mechanical Design Specialist to join our dynamic team.

We offer a competitive salary of £50,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits and opportunities for professional growth.

About the Role

As a Mechanical Design Specialist, you will play a key part in developing and delivering innovative design solutions for a wide range of projects, from science and research laboratories to commercial and residential developments.

You will work closely with experienced engineers to produce detailed designs and drawings using the latest digital techniques, including CAD software. Your role will also involve working on-site, conducting surveys, and collaborating with project teams and clients to ensure seamless delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical systems for various project types, including labs, leisure facilities, and high-end mixed-use developments.
  • Produce accurate and detailed designs, specifications, and documentation using CAD software.
  • Conduct site surveys to gather data and inform design decisions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated and innovative design solutions.
  • Manage small projects, ensuring timely completion and client satisfaction.

Requirements

  • A strong background in mechanical engineering, preferably with an IMechE or CIBSE-accredited degree.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, adapting to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Familiarity with CAD software and other relevant design tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality results under pressure.
