This pivotal role supports our Operations Manager in the day-to-day operations of our Mechanical Treatment (MT) plant and tipping hall, ensuring efficiency, safety, and environmental compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the MT plant and tipping hall, ensuring smooth and efficient processes.
- Supervise and lead our team of Mechanical Treatment Operators and Sort Line Operatives, fostering a collaborative and safe working environment.
- Manage and execute Mechanical Treatment procedures and risk assessments in accordance with BSI standards, ensuring all operations meet or exceed regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with third-party contractors and manage contracts, including offtakes, as directed by the Mechanical Treatment Lead, ensuring effective and beneficial partnerships.
Requirements:
- Certificate of Technical Competence (CoTC) – WAMITAB scheme or equivalent (desirable)
- IoSH Managing Safely or equivalent (desirable)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and capable of adapting to various computer-based systems.
- Experience in the waste industry, particularly in operating mobile and Mechanical Treatment Plants, is highly desirable.
- Essential experience in people management or supervision, demonstrating strong leadership and team-building abilities.
