The HOPWOOD HALL COLLEGE is seeking an experienced Academic Teacher to join their Health and Social Care department on a fixed-term basis. The ideal candidate will have a teaching qualification and a strong background in the subject area, with experience of teaching within the sector.

Job Description
  • To teach on a wide range of full and part-time courses, ensuring high-quality learning experiences for students across all levels of the curriculum.
  • To contribute to the planning, monitoring, and evaluation of the curriculum, maintaining comprehensive knowledge of specialist areas and staying up-to-date with current educational initiatives.
  • To prepare and mark assessments as required, promoting creative and innovative approaches to the development of teaching materials.
  • To participate in student interviews, enrolment, and induction, open days, and other liaison activities, fostering inclusive learning environments.
  • To work collaboratively within a team, attending meetings and contributing to the upkeep of the college's intranet site, supporting the continuous improvement of professional knowledge.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A teaching qualification or willingness to work towards it.
  • Experience of teaching within the subject area, preferably with vocational or industrial experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the subject area, understanding of current educational initiatives, and a creative approach to teaching materials.
  • Intermediate-level Microsoft applications skills, particularly Word and PowerPoint, with a willingness to undertake IT training relevant to the role.
Estimated Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum
