About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic teaching assistant to join our team at a mainstream primary school in Gillingham. The successful candidate will have experience of working with children with special educational needs, particularly those with SEMH.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children with SEMH needs in a KS2 classroom setting
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to develop and implement individualized support plans
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to children with SEMH needs
  • Assist with the development of social skills and behaviors
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers to ensure consistency and support

Requirements:

  • Experience of working with children with SEMH needs
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
