Control Systems Engineer - The Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Control Systems Engineer to join our team at Automation Experts Ltd. As a Control Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing electrical power and control systems for bespoke equipment.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Concept design of electrical power and control systems
  • Hardware design, including component selection and supporting calculations
  • Design of ethernet and serial networks
  • PLC programming (Siemens / Rockwell)
  • Manufacture and assembly support
  • Technical documentation to support equipment (specifications, risk assessments, manuals, etc)
  • Client support - on-site and remote
  • Peer review of engineering designs
  • Travel to customer sites for commissioning activities
Control Systems Engineer - The Person:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Control Systems Engineer who can work on projects without direct supervision. The ideal candidate will have a degree in an engineering discipline and experience in hardware design and PLC programming.

Key skills and qualifications include:

  • Hardware design experience
  • PLC software experience - Siemens or Rockwell preferred
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical useful but not essential
  • Experience of power systems or HV highly desirable
  • Ability to work on projects without direct supervision
  • Flexibility to travel for commissioning outside the UK when required
  • Clear thinker with tenacity to solve technical problems
  • Adaptable and willing to take on challenges
