About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mammographer to join our team at NHS Outer North East London. As a Mammographer, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality imaging services to patients and contributing to the early detection and diagnosis of breast cancer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take high-quality mammograms and participate in the units Quality Assurance Programme
  • Prepare and assist in biopsy procedures, including targeting for stereotactic examinations
  • Participate in a rota to cover work on mobile screening sites and ensure enough supplies are available
  • Be competent in the use of all clinical equipment used by the Service and keep up to date with current trends and techniques in mammography
  • Deal with nervous or anxious clients and record clinical observations
  • Be confident and professional when positioning women who are naked from the waist up and enter all quality assurance data on the computer
  • Deal with equipment malfunction and know when to suspend its use, maintain a current CPD portfolio, and identify images suitable for teaching purposes
  • Abide by the Ionising Radiation Regulations and work collaboratively with the NHS to deliver high-quality tests, scans, assessments, and procedures
