About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mammographer to join our team at NHS Outer North East London. As a Mammographer, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality imaging services to our patients and contributing to the early detection and diagnosis of breast cancer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take high-quality mammograms using state-of-the-art equipment
  • Participate in the Quality Assurance Programme to ensure the highest standards of care
  • Assist in biopsy procedures, including stereotactic examinations
  • Work collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth operations on mobile screening sites
  • Ensure adequate supplies are available at mobile sites and arrange transportation as needed
  • Stay up-to-date with current trends and techniques in mammography
  • Provide excellent patient care and communication
  • Record clinical observations and maintain accurate records
  • Deal with equipment malfunctions and know when to suspend use
  • Maintain a current CPD portfolio and identify images suitable for teaching purposes
  • Abide by the Ionising Radiation Regulations

Requirements
  • BSc in Radiography
  • PG Cert in Mammography
  • Current HCPC registration
  • Experience working in a customer-facing role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft packages and other IT systems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of data protection and confidentiality laws
