Care Support Companion

We are looking for a compassionate and empathetic Care Support Companion to join our team at Home Instead Horsham, Haywards Heath & Burgess Hill. As an Evening Care Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing support and care to our elderly clients in the comfort of their own homes during the evening hours.
Key Responsibilities- Assist clients with evening routines, including personal care tasks such as bathing and dressing, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
- Prepare evening meals and assist with feeding if necessary, adhering to any dietary restrictions, and promoting a safe and healthy eating environment.
- Provide companionship, engage in conversation, and participate in activities that clients enjoy, fostering meaningful relationships and a sense of belonging.
- Perform light housekeeping duties to ensure clients' living spaces are clean and comfortable, promoting a safe and healthy environment.
- Offer medication reminders and assist with bedtime preparations, ensuring clients receive the support they need to maintain their independence.
- Ensure a safe environment for the client, addressing any immediate needs or concerns, and providing reassurance and support when required.
Evening shifts, typically starting from 6 pm to 10 pm. Flexibility is required, with the possibility of working weekends on a rotational basis, allowing you to maintain a good work-life balance.

- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage positively with clients and their families, and provide clear and concise updates on client care.

- Must have access to reliable transportation, ensuring you can safely and efficiently travel to and from client homes.
- Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check, demonstrating your commitment to maintaining the highest standards of care and safety.
