Key Responsibilities:
- Mentor and Support Direct Reports: Provide guidance and support to your team members to ensure they are equipped to deliver a high-quality payroll service.
- Performance Management: Conduct regular performance reviews and set SMART objectives to drive team performance and development.
- Team Monitoring: Regularly review team performance and identify areas for improvement, providing training and development opportunities as needed.
- Issue Escalation: Identify and escalate any performance issues or training needs to the Head of Payroll.
- Recognition and Rewards: Recognize and reward team members who exceed expectations and demonstrate exceptional performance.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Payroll Calendar Management: Maintain and review payroll calendars to ensure accurate planning and resource allocation.
- Control Review: Review and recommend improvements to payroll controls to minimize risk and ensure compliance.
- Collaboration: Work closely with senior team members and other stakeholders to manage expectations, communicate effectively, and resolve issues.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need to be a strong leader with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will also require a minimum CIPP level 3 qualification and previous experience in a payroll management role.
