About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Merchandiser to join our Fresh/Grocery Operations team at Sainsbury's. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operations of our fresh/grocery departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage product availability and stock replenishment across various categories, including fruits, vegetables, meat, and fish.
  • Optimize stock levels, forecast demand, and analyze sales data to make informed decisions and drive sales growth.
  • Collaborate closely with suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of fresh products and maintain high quality standards.
  • Monitor and manage waste levels, implement promotional activities, and contribute to the overall profitability of the fresh/grocery departments.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A deep understanding of the retail industry, specifically in the area of fresh products.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to interpret market trends and customer behavior.
  • Experience in managing and optimizing the supply chain and inventory management for fresh/grocery products.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing demands.
