Job Title: Senior Clinical Coding Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Clinical Coding Analyst to join our team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the coding department, mentoring junior coders, and coordinating meetings with clinical staff to validate coded data.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical coding systems
  • Mentor and support junior coders to ensure high-quality coding standards
  • Coordinate meetings with clinical staff to validate coded data and ensure accuracy
  • Develop and implement coding policies and procedures to ensure compliance with national rules and conventions
  • Provide training and support to staff on coding systems and procedures
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of coding data
Requirements
  • Accredited Clinical Coding (ACC) Qualification
  • Extensive knowledge of clinical coding rules and conventions, anatomy and physiology, and medical terminology
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Intermediate-level keyboard skills and proficiency in Excel and Word
