About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Dispensing Assistant to join our Pharmacy team at East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing dispensing support to qualified staff, ensuring the safe and effective delivery of medicines to our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • To dispense medicines for inpatients and outpatients, ensuring accurate calculations and adherence to departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • To maintain high standards of patient care, ensuring that all customers receive the correct medicine in the correct form and in a timely manner.
  • To manage and maintain accurate records of dispensed medicines, including controlled drugs.
  • To work collaboratively with the pharmacy team to ensure seamless delivery of services.
  • To participate in the development and implementation of pharmacy policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Previous experience of working in pharmacy (retail/hospital).
  • Use of computers.
  • Basic Secondary Education - 'O' level/GCSE English, Maths & Science.
  • NVQ Pharmacy Services Level 2 - optional units: relevant to pharmacy practice area or equivalent.
