Senior Software Engineering Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineering Manager to lead our team of software engineers in Edinburgh. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and managerial guidance to a team of 6-8 software engineers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical leadership and managerial guidance to a team of software engineers
  • Recruit and mentor staff to grow the team's capability and individual talent
  • Review product requirements and feature requests, providing development effort estimates and risk assessments to senior management
  • Influence architectural decisions, design/code reviews, test plans, and technology strategy
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects to deliver committed features on time
  • Foster an environment of continuous improvement in software engineering practices and product quality
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in electronics and communications engineering, computer engineering, or computer science
  • 10 years of experience in a software development role, in the Networking Domain
  • Five years of experience in a technical leadership role and/or people management role
  • Familiar with Linux development environment, C, Python
  • Knowledge of network routers/switches or routing protocols (ISIS, OSPF, BGP, etc.), Networking Applications
  • Experience in open-source software development
