An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and skilled Radiographer to lead our superb team within x-ray at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust.
The x-ray Superintendent is a pivotal member of the Radiology Team. The post holder will be supported by the Radiology management team to lead a team of dedicated Radiographers providing x-ray services.
Main Duties of the Job- The post holder will be responsible for x-ray services at our Community Diagnostic Centre and will support the wider trust x-ray service in conjunction with the Superintendents of the Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells sites.
- The post holder will provide professional leadership to the Team within X-ray.
- The post holder will manage x-ray equipment on a day-to-day basis.
- The post holder will lead current and new staff members.
- The post holder will develop and be responsible for the implementation of departmental policies & protocols.
MTW is a large acute hospital trust in the south-east of England.
We provide a full range of general hospital services and some aspects of specialist and complex care to around 600,000 people living in west Kent and East Sussex.
We have a team of over 8,000 full and part-time staff.
We also provide specialist cancer services to around 2 million people across Kent and East Sussex via the Kent Oncology Centre.

Person SpecificationQualifications
- BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography, equivalent.
- HCPC registration.
- Evidence of CPD.
Desirable Criteria
- Post-Graduate Management Qualification.
- Advanced practice qualification relevant to post, e.g. PgCert in CT.
Skills
- Able to work under own initiative.
- Ability to take responsibility for the delivery and development of CT.
- Ability to analyze complex information and action appropriately.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Management leadership & teaching skills.
- Ability to develop and implement policies and procedures.
- Good understanding of Clinical Governance.
Experience / Knowledge
- Broad Radiographic experience.
- Experience in a senior position within x-ray.
- Significant experience as a qualified Radiographer.
