Procurement Specialist

We are seeking a highly organized and self-motivated Procurement Specialist to join our team at Obscurant Recruitment Solutions Ltd. As a key member of our procurement team, you will play a pivotal role in sourcing the correct products and services at the right time and price in line with MRP requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Purchasing components as required and directed in line with requirements generated via the MRP system, ensuring OTIF requirements are fully achieved.
- Reviewing all data and suggesting changes to buying & stocking patterns to optimize best practice.
- Ensuring flow lines are fully stocked in accordance with production requirements.
- Establishing core strengths and building sound and professional supplier relationships.
- Consulting with suppliers to ensure quality, commercial and delivery targets are achieved.
- Providing information and support to departmental managers and other internal customers.
- Expediting outstanding orders with suppliers to ensure there is no impact on production schedules.
- Assisting in the development of suppliers in line with the needs of the business.
Requirements:
- Minimum of two years' experience of working in similar purchasing role within a manufacturing/engineering environment.
- Good understanding and working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems with experience of 'Pull Systems' Kanban.
- Ability to read technical engineering drawings and demonstrate good stock control experience.
- Excellent communication skills, written and spoken.
- Good negotiation and analytical skills.
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office in particular Excel.
