Role of the Department

At MAHLE, our Development team is responsible for delivering customer projects for future powertrain. We provide consultancy services to our clients in the areas of advanced internal combustion engines, batteries, hybrid systems, low carbon fuels, and more. Our team is our strength, and we require exceptional engineers with an inquisitive and flexible mindset to support the wide range of projects that we deliver.

Duties:

  • Develop and validate engine systems, including testbed, rig, and vehicle integration
  • Integrate vehicles with advanced powertrain systems
  • Define and test specifications for DVP
  • Inspect and analyze components, identifying root causes of failures
  • Apply NVH expertise to improve vehicle performance
  • Manipulate and interpret data to inform engineering decisions
  • Write technical reports and present findings to stakeholders
  • Aware of customer and commercial requirements

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Considerable relevant experience in automotive development engineering
  • Experience in engineering, preferably in an automotive environment
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Knowledge of general engineering fundamentals
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Good data analysis skills
  • Report writing and time management skills
  • Technical presentation skills
  • Knowledge of automotive electrification technologies (eMotors and Batteries) is highly desirable
  • Experience with AVL Converto, MATLAB, and MS Office is desirable
  • Knowledge and working experience of quality systems and procedures is advantageous
  • German language skills are advantageous but not essential
  • Able to supervise the work of others
