About the Role

As a Principal Development Engineer at MAHLE, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for delivering cutting-edge powertrain solutions to our customers. Our department provides expert consultancy services in advanced internal combustion engines, batteries, hybrid systems, low-carbon fuels, and more. We are seeking exceptional engineers with a curious and adaptable mindset to support our diverse range of projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and validate engine systems, including testbed, rig, and vehicle integration
  • Lead vehicle integration and DVP definition, including test specification
  • Conduct component inspection, failure, and root cause analysis
  • Apply NVH expertise to benefit our projects
  • Manipulate and interpret data to inform technical decisions
  • Write technical reports and presentations to communicate complex ideas
  • Stay aware of customer and commercial requirements

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Considerable relevant experience in automotive development engineering
  • Experience in engineering, preferably within an automotive environment
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Knowledge of general engineering fundamentals
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Report writing and time management skills
  • Technical presentation skills
  • Desirable: knowledge of automotive electrification technologies (eMotors and Batteries)
  • Desirable: experience with AVL Converto, MATLAB, and MS Office
  • Knowledge and working experience of quality systems and procedures is advantageous
  • German language skills, advantageous but not essential
  • Able to supervise the work of others
