Job Title: Principal Mechanical Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our Platform Nuclear Engineering team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing interface requirements and Verification & Validation evidence between the submarine platform and the Nuclear Steam Raising Plant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage interface requirements and Verification & Validation evidence between the submarine platform and the Nuclear Steam Raising Plant.
  • Support the production of Design Substantiation Reports and ALARP statements in line with the Nuclear Safety Case.
  • Support integration of Nuclear Steam Raising Plant requirements with shipyard build, test & commissioning processes.
  • Engage with the Nuclear Steam Raising Plant Technical Authority and the Submarine Delivery Agency to support design maturity development, integration and decision making.
  • Undertake peer reviews/checking of design deliverables to ensure integration of nuclear interface requirements.

Requirements:

  • Experience in engineering design with a specialty in Nuclear Engineering.
  • Strong communication skills and experience of working in collaborative project teams.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in Testing and commissioning.
  • Operational experience.
