Overview

SSE Enterprise, a leading player in the energy sector, is seeking an experienced High Voltage Network Technician to join its team. This role will involve working on the front lines of electrical distribution, ensuring the reliable supply of power to communities across central southern England and the north of Scotland.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and upgrading the high-voltage network, including cable preparation, jointing, and termination. They will also assist experienced cable jointers on HV & LV networks, performing tasks such as excavation work, cabling, and jointing. Additionally, they will be involved in maintenance, refurbishment, and preparation of electrical equipment within substation compounds.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cable preparation for cable jointing and termination into transformers or switchgear
  • Assisting experienced cable jointers on HV & LV networks
  • Maintenance, refurbishment, and preparation of electrical equipment within substation compounds
  • Ensuring the safety of oneself and colleagues, adhering to strict health and safety protocols
Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must have a strong focus on health and safety, excellent communication skills, and the ability to convey technical aspects in a clear and concise manner. They should also be flexible, adaptable, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
