Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Manager to join our team at the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS). As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for managing and developing a procurement team to achieve operational targets while ensuring day-to-day activities are aligned with operational expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure optimal delivery of supplier materials.
  • Achieve and report on year-on-year cost reduction, including critical period BU and Group Procurement Reporting.
  • Drive managed inventory reduction and working capital improvements.
  • Negotiate with suppliers and improve their performance.
  • Undertake tactical purchasing activities as required by the business, such as expediting, placing orders, maintaining production output, addressing quality issues, and resolving invoice queries.
  • Implement and drive strategic purchasing initiatives, aligning with business needs and objectives.
  • Analyze the supply market and supply chain for all portfolio of expenditure to reduce costs and optimize added value.
  • Identify and monitor risks and vulnerabilities affecting key categories.
  • Drive continuous improvement within the supply chain and internal processes to support best practice.
  • Collaborate with the supply chain, manufacturing engineers, product managers, and engineers to resolve supply issues.
  • Source new products and encourage innovation within the supply chain.
  • Ensure adherence to processes and procedures in line with Business Unit requirements.
  • Analyze technical data, designs, specifications, manufacturing limitations, and supplier capabilities.
  • Support internal initiatives on product development and new product implementation.
  • Bring experience from a fast-paced manufacturing/engineering supply chain role.
  • Be organized, able to document, handle, prioritize, and deal with a high volume of projects and tasks.
  • Have experience in writing and interpreting contract documents.
  • Hold a full driving license and be willing to travel.
  • Hold CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply Chain) certification.
  • Have knowledge of contract law (commercial).
  • Have project management skills.
  • Have experience in global sourcing and supply chains.
  • Be proficient in advanced purchasing techniques.
  • Be creative and analytical.
