Job Title: Head of Transportation

Job Summary:

Ealing Council is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to lead our transportation team. As Head of Transportation, you will be responsible for shaping the future of transportation in Ealing, ensuring that our borough is well-equipped to address existing and emerging transport challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive transportation strategy that aligns with the Council's overall vision and objectives.
  • Lead a team of transportation professionals to deliver transportation projects and initiatives that promote sustainable travel and reduce carbon emissions.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including the Highways Team, Economic Regeneration Team, and Planning Team, to ensure that transportation considerations are integrated into all Council activities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including Transport for London, the Department for Transport, and other transport agencies, to ensure that Ealing's interests are represented and that there is effective collaboration on strategic transport objectives.
  • Manage budgets and ensure that transportation projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in transportation planning and management, with a strong understanding of sustainable travel principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including residents, businesses, and transport agencies.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of transportation professionals.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and develop effective solutions to transportation challenges.
  • Knowledge of transportation policy and legislation, including the Mayor's Transport Strategy and the Local Implementation Plan.
