Job Description

Job Title: Assistant Landfill Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Landfill Manager to join our team at CV Technical. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the daily operation of the quarry is run to the highest standards of safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe operation in compliance with legal requirements and company policies.
  • Organize, plan, coordinate, and control all aspects of the landfill operations, including management of contractors, rail operations, and earthworks.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental permits and incoming waste acceptance criteria.
  • Manage operations in line with local planning conditions.
  • Develop and implement effective safety procedures and risk assessments.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work additional hours as required to meet production needs.
  • Have high computer proficiency, ideally with knowledge of SAP and Office 365 programs.
  • Hold or be willing to complete the Level 3 inert Landfill WAMITAB Qualification.
  • Hold SHE NVQ Level 4.
  • Have undertaken Geotechnical Training.
  • CPD record (3 years minimum).

Requirements:

  • Previous supervisory or management experience gained within a quarry or similar environment.
  • Good communication skills and a real desire to develop your own skills.
  • Previous experience managing large earthworks contracts.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Experience of undertaking risk assessments and developing safe working procedures.
