Lead the Corporate and Commercial Team

This is a unique opportunity for a driven and experienced Solicitor to join and lead the Corporate and Commercial team of a large Legal 500 Essex Law firm. The Team handles a wide range of corporate and commercial transactions with values exceeding £20m.

The role has arisen due to succession planning and restructuring to recruit a new Team Leader. The team consists of a mixture of highly qualified senior lawyers and junior lawyers. The Commercial and Corporate Finance Team also includes the regulatory offering, which continues to grow and offers new and exciting opportunities to develop new and existing client relationships.

As Team Leader, the successful candidate will be granted a discounted fee target to acknowledge the time and commitment required to manage and develop a Team.

The successful candidate will be expected to lead and develop the existing team whilst also identifying areas for growth and new revenue streams. The role will require excellent communication skills and the ability to nurture business partner relationships. The role will involve marketing and business development, and therefore, the ideal candidate must be flexible enough to work outside normal office hours and be comfortable attending a range of marketing events and progressing a variety of business development initiatives.

The firm has a progressive and flexible working culture, which includes the opportunity to work from home and flexibly throughout the day in accordance with the Firm's guidelines and policies. However, it is essential that the individual develops and maintains strong relationships with all members of the team across all of the firm's offices.

The role will be focused on the following:

  • Leading a highly successful and motivated team;

  • Reporting to the senior management team;
  • Identifying training needs amongst team members;
  • General corporate commercial work including:
  • Share sale and purchases;
  • Asset sale and purchases;
  • Management Buy Outs;
  • Employee Ownership Trusts;
  • Demergers;
  • Share re-organisations;
  • Shareholder agreements;
  • Share buy backs;
  • Employee share schemes;
  • Joint Ventures;
  • Partnerships;
  • LLPs;
  • Corporate Governance;
  • Directors Duties;
  • General Commercial Contracts.
