Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at TLC Care. As a Nurse Care Specialist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care to our residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.

Main Responsibilities

Care and Care Planning

  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in conjunction with residents, relatives, and healthcare professionals.
  • Assess and evaluate residents' care needs, providing health supervision and direct nursing care as required.
  • Administer prescribed medications and maintain accurate records.
  • Ensure residents' dignity and respect are maintained at all times.

Tissue Viability

  • Implement strategies to prevent pressure sores and promote wound healing.
  • Conduct regular assessments to identify residents at risk of pressure sores.

Nutrition

  • Ensure residents receive a balanced diet and maintain accurate records of fluid and food intake.
  • Conduct regular assessments to identify residents at risk of malnutrition.

Continence

  • Develop and implement individualized continence care plans.
  • Conduct regular assessments to identify residents at risk of incontinence.

Infection Control

  • Implement and maintain infection control policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with infection control guidelines.

Communication

  • Establish and maintain effective communication with residents, relatives, and healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss resident care.

Training and Development

  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to maintain and improve clinical skills.
  • Act as a mentor to student nurses and carers.

Requirements

  • NMC Registered Nurse with valid PIN number.
  • Ability to motivate and delegate effectively.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Genuine interest in working with the elderly.
  • Satisfactory DBS and DBS Adult First check.
