Financial Accountant Job Description

**About the Company**

Aila Recruitment is a specialist finance recruitment business dedicated to providing the best jobs to the best people. Our client, a market leader and multi-site business, is looking for a Financial Accountant to join their month end finance team.

**Key Responsibilities**

* Assist with the monthly accounting cycle, including ownership over P&L and balance sheet lines and the production of relevant and meaningful analysis, commentary and reconciliations around areas of reporting.
* Take ownership of balance sheet and P&L accounts and assume responsibility for financial reporting and operational queries relating to those areas.
* Provide insightful and meaningful commentary around P&L variances to budget and prior month/year.
* Prepare accurate balance sheet reconciliations every month promptly.
* Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
* Be willing and able to challenge and manage stakeholders in areas of responsibility.
* Ensure accounting standards are adhered to while having due regard for the motivations of other departments.
* Support with month-end and year-end close processes.
* Support with interim and year-end audit queries around areas of responsibility.
* Suggest process and control changes to drive continual improvement around financial control and reporting.

**The Ideal Candidate**

* ACA/ACCA Qualified Accountant with audit experience.
* Technically strong Accountant, looking for the first or second move in Industry.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines.
* Strong problem-solving skills and a commercially curious mindset.
* Excellent Excel skills and ability to build relationships across all levels.

**What they Offer**

* Competitive salary: £60,000 - £75,000.
