This is a 10 PA locum appointment for a Consultant Cardiothoracic Anaesthetist. The post will be available from as soon as possible for a period of six months.
The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering 10 PAs supporting the anaesthetic team at the Leeds General Infirmary and St James's University Hospital Leeds.
The appointee must hold accreditation in FRCA in the Royal College of Anaesthetists or equivalent and be on the Specialist Register or within six months of being admitted to the Register for trainees if currently in a training programme within the UK.
About the RoleThe post will involve working with other consultant colleagues in the provision of a comprehensive cardiac anaesthetic service in the Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust.
The appointee will be expected to develop and/or consolidate expertise in cardiac anaesthesia and support service plans for the specialty, taking account of changes in clinical practice and new technologies available.
The successful candidate will be required to participate in the undergraduate teaching programme for the school of Medicine, University of Leeds, and contribute to the teaching of postgraduates, including the teaching programme for SpRs in the Local Education and Training Board.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver 10 PAs supporting the anaesthetic team at the Leeds General Infirmary and St James's University Hospital Leeds.
- Develop and/or consolidate expertise in cardiac anaesthesia.
