Unlock Your Potential in Our Exterior Surface Centre
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our Exterior Surface Centre team at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, Goodwood. As a 13-month placement student, you will have the opportunity to work alongside our experienced quality specialists and contribute to the delivery of exceptional surface finishes for our Rolls-Royce vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the team in the procurement and preparation for installation phase of a new paint facility.
- Review concept maturity and change requirements in preparation for equipment commissioning.
- Evaluate and assess the feasibility of new equipment and controls technologies for the new paint facility.
- Review and update structure layout and engineering drawings.
- Gather, analyze, and implement continuous process improvements.
- Assist in planning and preparation of new model vehicle build phases.
- Streamline reporting requirements and prepare for annual audits.
- Liaise with manufacturing and suppliers for material and process trials.
- Measure and analyze product and process characteristics to support further development of surface finish quality.
- Steer system improvements to support production processes.
- Analyze data to understand areas of focus and steer KPIs.
- Liaise with support functions such as planning, logistics, and the technical laboratory for process, product, and facility optimization.
- Analyze quality issues and quality reporting.
- Support new model launch work and manage special body trials.
Requirements:
- Studying towards a Bachelor's or integrated Master's degree in Automotive/Mechanical/Mechatronics/Industrial Engineering or similar course.
- Experience with MS Excel/Office Suite, Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), SharePoint, Power BI, and other business analytics tools.
- Experience with technical drawings and software is preferred (e.g., CAD).
- German language skills are advantageous.
- Drive to create unconventional solutions and ideas.
- Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills, with exceptional written and verbal communication.
- Good organization and time management skills, with the ability to show high attention to detail in every task.
- Flexible working approach depending on specific requirements and able to prioritize activities, work under pressure, multi-task, and solve problems.
- Highly self-motivated and capable of working with minimal management input.
